I’m not sure I understand this whole concept of mens engagement rings. I mean, I believe they exist. In fact, I’ve seen one, my friend James appeared at our house proudly displaying one the other day. But I mean, what’s the point? Surely if you get married you will end up wearing a fancy wedding ring anyway! Why mens engagement rings are so popular suddenly remains a mystery to me. One of the reasons, I guess, is that men want to show evidence that they are actually engaged. Is it because they think they’ll forget or something? Maybe I’m just not a romantic and don’t understand. My friend’s engagement ring has quite a gemstone on it, but it does look very masculine, I’ll admit it. I’ve also seen examples in quite vintage styles, as well as rings made out of titanium and tungsten, both excellent choices. What I think is odder still is that apparently the woman can now propose to the man! Whatever next!? I do really think this is a very odd tradition, or non-tradition I should say. I suppose if men can buy and wear engagement rings then it’s not too much of a leap to see women proposing marriage either.
